The iPartyRadio Story
The idea for iPartyRadio was born during the 2005 Winter Music Conference in Miami, Florida, a gathering point for DJs, producers, and radio pros from around the world.
The vision was simple: create an internet radio station that sounded every bit as big, polished, and personality-driven as the best FM stations in major markets, but dedicated entirely to the dance and party sound.
A few months later, that vision became reality. On July 15, 2005, iPartyRadio officially went live. The station was fueled by a small but passionate team of club DJs and radio programmers, people who lived in the booth, the studio, and on the dancefloor. With their help (and the technical backbone of our original sponsor, TechMinds 4 Hire in Chicago), iPartyRadio quickly became one of the internet’s biggest dance radio success stories.
Streaming from a high-capacity data center in downtown Chicago, iPartyRadio’s reliability and sound quality set it apart. We ran like a professional broadcast operation, 24/7 uptime, hand-curated playlists, and mix shows from DJs across the U.S. and abroad. The result: a loyal global following that stretched from New York to London, Tokyo, and beyond.
By 2007, iPartyRadio had climbed the Shoutcast and iTunes Radio charts, sitting side-by-side with the biggest names in internet broadcasting. At its peak, the station was delivering hundreds of thousands of monthly listeners, an incredible feat for the time. Fans discovered new remixes, classic anthems, and exclusive DJ sets that couldn’t be heard anywhere else.
From the beginning, iPartyRadio was about more than just music, it was a community of people who lived for the party, whether that was a packed club, a road trip soundtrack, or late-night sessions behind a computer screen discovering new tracks.
In 2010, iPartyRadio signed off after five unforgettable years online. But as the world evolved, from broadband to smartphones, from iTunes to streaming apps, one thing stayed constant: the sound of those eras still mattered. The anthems that defined the 90s and 2000s never faded away.
